ROCHESTER AREA LIBRARIES (RALI) BY-LAWS*

*ARTICLE I:  NAME*

The name of the association shall be "RALI" (Rochester Area Libraries).


*ARTICLE II:  PURPOSE*

Purpose of the Organization shall be to improve library service through the exchange of information and resources, provide activities such as book, supply and material buying and provide a variety of workshops applicable to the needs of member libraries.


*ARTICLE III:  MEMBERSHIP*

_SECTION 1:

_All libraries interested in the purpose of this Association and who shall pay the established annual membership dues of $25.00 shall be eligible for membership.  All members wishing to participate in the privileges of the Association shall pay any additional fees as established by a majority vote of the membership.  All dues and fees shall be payable at the Annual Meeting of the Association.

_SECTION 2:_

To be eligible for membership in the video, adult audio and children's audio exchanges, member libraries must pay additional annual dues of:

         $50.00 for videos
         $75.00 for adult audios
         $25.00 for children's audios

* Dues are payable at the September meeting of each year.
*Any dues collected are non-refundable.
*New libraries may join the video/audio exchanges in September, no exceptions,.
*All libraries must notify the Chairperson of their intent to participate in the video and audio exchanges no later than the September meeting.
*All libraries participating in the RALI video/audio exchange shall bring all videos/audios need to be sent to the Chairperson for delivery or directly to the library who will be receiving videos/audios no less than one week prior to meeting date.


*ARTICLE IV:  OFFICERS*

_SECTION 1:_

Officers shall be Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.

_SECTION 2:_

Terms shall be for one year.

_SECTION 3:_

Elections shall be held at the September meeting each year.

ARTICLE V:  MEETINGS*

_SECTION 1:_

RALI meetings shall be held four times a year.  They will be held in March, June, September and December. Dates to be determined at the annual meeting in September.

_SECTION 2:_

Annual meeting shall be held in September.


*ARTICLE VI:  COMMITTEES*

_SECTION 1:  _

Committees shall be appointed at the discretion of the Cooperative.

_SECTION 2:_

Findings of a Committee must be approved by a majority of the members present before any action is taken.  This does not include video and audio selections.

*ARTICLE VII:  AMENDMENTS

*These By-laws may be amended on prior notice at any meeting of this Association by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present.
